Good layout but bemuda greens made putting a difficult chore. The bunkers were so hard, I lost many strokes when my sand wedge just bounced into the ball. The course name should start with a B.

Very disappointed in the current conditioning of the course. Especially the greens. When greens are at this state, notices should be given for the benefit of the golfers and the reputation of the course management. Design-wise, somewhat of a overrated description. Very natural surrounding is appreciated. Staff - well, all I can say is "what staff?" Pro shop was not welcoming at all.

Course very dry. Do they not irrigate? Greens looked diseased but exceptionally fast, fairways, tees, rough not in good condition at all. Looks like the Witch is off the list for next trip.

The Witch is our favorite course in Myrtle Beach. It is a challenging but fair course that offers diversity and plenty of scenery (i.e. wildlife). The staff was first-class in service delivery.

Enjoyed the layout. Greens were a little bumpy but overall rolled well. 3-hour frost delay gave us plenty of time to check out the pro shop, and the gentleman working the grill room was a friendly host. Will play again.

The only problem we had was slow play. Foursome in front was playing 2 or 3 balls each per hole. Marshall should have seen that and talked to them.

Rained most of the time we were on the course so it was not the best of conditions. BUT - I have loved the Witch from the first time I played it with my golf buddies in 1991. Played it maybe 5 or 6 times. Always a welcome choice if I want to take someone for a good offer.

Played on Thursday afternoon, 9/24/09 for $59.00 (coupon in the paper). They'd had a very hard rain for 15-20 minutes before I got there. I played the back nine first and tee ball plugged. That had NEVER happened before in all my trips to MB. Very nice layout. Appreciated no housing. Greens weren't as good as I expected.
I would really like to see a set of tees between the White and Forward tees. I know some holes don't have room for another set of tees but most do.
I'd play it again since I'm more familiar with the layout.
Really appreciated being able to play by myself. Just me and the course!

Service was average. Course condition was below average, bunkers were full of debris and lacking sand, especially on the back 9. Mowers would not move out of the fairway with us on the tee, even after we hit them with our drives. If Myrtle Beach wants to be a golf destination, they have to make it better than this. My golf is better in Mooresville, NC.

It was a bit wet from a storm two days earlier that saturated all of the Strand courses. That was a little odd for us, as we have typically found the courses dry and hard with some roll. This is why I say that the fairways were only good. I'm certain the following day they had improved. Very little roll for this round. The tendency was for the ball to plug. This, however, helped the greens hold good shots. This course is very good for us as the ladies' tees are very playable for my wife.

This is a terrific layout. I particularly enjoy the natural areas and the absence of houses, condos, etc. The staff and facilities could not be better. Treat yourself to a first class golf outing at the Witch.

Frankly, we picked this course cause we were told it was really nice and it was not as expensive as the other golf courses that were in the upper end. We did it to budget our package but WOW. Frankly we were really shocked at how great an experience we had. Beautiful golf course. Being on in nature and the surroundings was incredible. We played a lot of the upper end and this one ranked with the best of them.
Golf digest was right when they called this the best value or something like that at the beach.

Really enjoyed the clubhouse and staff. The layout of the course is fantastic! However, the tees and fairways were very wet and sprinklers were still going off. This made for a lot of lift, clean and play.
