Introducing the best new golf course to open in the Myrtle Beach area in a long long time- the Founders Club at Pawleys Island- opened in February 2008. The Founders Club at Pawleys Island offers guests a unique experience in the Pawleys Island area with 18 uniquely designed golf holes. Built on the former sight of Sea Gulf Golf Club, our guests come away with remembering not only their best shot, but every shot. A Thomas Walker design that offers stuffing visuals, as well as isolated teeing areas, will give our golfers something special to remember. Once your experience has concluded, a new Lowcountry-style clubhouse with a wrap-around porch awaits you for a relaxing meal in our dining or meeting facilities, over looking the beauty of the 18th Hole.

Nice layout and the overall course is in good shape. The green seem a little immature but look like they will be great in the future. The course is a very pretty course to look at. Will play again.

Played after heavy rain so waste bunkers were impossible. Crosses too many roads. Good layout, very good par threes and back nine much nicer than front. GPS in cart very helpful.

We started with 3 holes of heavy rain but we were still able to enjoy this very nice course. People who can't drive over the waste area in front of the tee will find it difficult. Different and interesting course in top condition.

Very challenging, a target course that probably would only appeal to low handicappers. Don't feel it is a good course for senior play or ladies play.

By far the nicest and most challenging course I have played in Myrtle Beach. We thought the course was in fantastic condition and the greens were in great condition considering the time of year. My hat goes off to the superintendent. I will play again next year.

It was an unusual course for me with all the waste bunkers. I called to be sure that there was no maintenance going on and was told that the greens had been aerated 3 weeks earlier. I should have asked had they recovered. they were very bumpy and still recovering. I would have chosen another course had i known the shape they were in. If the greens were in better shape, i could have rated it higher. since this was the only time i was going to play i would have liked to have the course in tip top shape. I probably would have chosen another course to play had i known what shape they were in.

I played this course on Apr 26 and was very impressed. The course was in great condition and although the are a lot of waste bunkers they usually don't come into play. It looks more intimidating than it is. Pro staff was very very friendly and even offered an unsolicited reduction in my green fees.

Commented on November 18, 2008: "Played the Founders Club on Saturday Nov. 15. I really enjoyed the course; it is a very good test. The 9th hole is a hole that could be a fantastic finishing hole if the trees on the left corner off the tee were taken out so the player looked directly at the lake and bunker. The fairway over the corner and to the lay up area need to be wider with some trees on the right taken out. This could be a beautiful golf hole. If this course was in a different area of the Grand Strand it would be one of the more popular courses in the area. Well worth the time to play."
