Named By Golf Digest and GOLF Magazine as one of the Top 10 New Public Courses in America for 2007, Leopard’s Chase Golf Club at Ocean Ridge Plantation is the fourth Big Cat in the family of felines. This par 72 course designed by Tim Cate is as scenic as it is enjoyable to play. You will encounter forced carries, some generous landing areas and dramatic elevation changes. As you travel the 18 holes, you will also notice a varied terrain accompanied by stunning natural vistas. The tee positions will accommodate all levels of play with equal risk and reward situations to allow you the best scoring opportunities. Save your delicate touch shots for the undulating greens. The waterfall along #18 green will calm and relax you as you finish your round.

The course is finally maturing. As for all Tim Cate courses, you get challenge and scenic venues. This course has some punishing carries and requires placement from the tee box. Greens are well-sized but very undulating and benefit from proper approach positions.

Course definitely did not live up to its unfounded reputation. Pro shop staff lacking in customer service skills, pace of play absolutely the worst I have ever seen, taking 2.5 hours to play first seven holes. Course overbooked and average in layout and condition at best. Only good thing about whole experience was Gatorade from grill was cold! Do not waste your time or money!

Played 2 March. Course was in great shape considering the miserable winter in the area. No clubhouse yet, with only a mobile building for temporary pro-shop. Challenging and uniques holes throughout and in very good condition. Greens were among the best we played over 9 courses in the area at this time.

Played course in April and pace of play was terrible. There were four groups on every hole. We had one on the green, one on the fairway, one on the tee box and always one group waiting. Never did see a ranger; course was just overbooked! To me it's just an average course; did not live up to all the hype that I heard about. would not play here again.

The person in the clubhouse was VERY rude when I made my tee time with my Myrtle Beach Golf Passport. I was given a rate of $70 which was great, however when I got to the course the person was quick to ask if I got the email about the special rate of $55 if I brought in 3 canned items. I am on vacation and don't have Internet access at my condo. If they had told me ahead of time when I made my original tee time I would have picked up some canned goods to secure the better price. That being said the gentleman in the pro shop that day needs some people training. I also feel that your course is very overrated; too many hazards in the wrong place which leads to SLOW play. I was there on 4/9 with three of my friends; never to return again.

We played this course last year and it was awesome, but this year the greens were terrible.

They should offer a food package with your green fee b/c if you don't bring your A game, Leopards Chase will eat your lunch! Greens were phenomenal when I played in the fall last year, but I've heard they are having real issues this year. I would double check with someone before spending the cash. The other Cat courses are in good shape - just played Lion's Paw last week (10/22/09).

Best of our week. Conditions, layout, maintenance. Sand, Sand, Sand - some firm, some powder. Long drive once inside complex. Give your self an extra 10 minutes from the gate on Rt. 17.

Commented on November 22, 2008: "Played this not long after it opened and found it very difficult (off the back tees!) but another great course in the Ocean Plantation (played them all - Tigers Eye is our favorite). We would play this again."

Commented on August 15, 2008: "I played Leopard's Chase on July 27 and it was the best golf experience that I have had in along time. The course is beautiful and difficult. The staff was excellent. I can understand why they charge $150+ in the spring and fall.

This plce is fancy. With a little more time for the greens to soften up, it will be the best couse on the beach.
