Staff was great. I really enjoyed the two tiered fairways. Doglegs made the course fun to play as well. My wife who is a high handicapper played with me on this day ... and she loved it. The course was very "woman" friendly. This was my second time at Blackmoor. Something that I cannot say for other Myrtle Beach courses. After playing several of the courses in the area over the last several years ... It's time for me to start going back to my favorites ... and Blackmoor is definitely one of them.

We enjoyed the course. However, the biting flies were almost intolerable. Everyone was extremely nice. The course was in good shape. Nothing stood out as "great" but still a nice track to play. I will be back!!!

This was our third time playing Blackmoor and it did not disappoint. Some tees were a little rough, but not sure what weather preceeded our visit. A small snafu with our tee time, but Matt and (entire) staff did right by us! Treated like royalty upon our return. Remains our must-play each visit.

The course was great. My younger son has a 7 hdcp., and this course really tested him with the doglegs and narrow fairways. The greens were fast and smooth, and the fairways were beautiful. This course will be on our top 5 when we come back next year.

Play this course every year, and it gets better every year. The greens were punched the week before I played, and the putts rolled great. Greens rolled every bit as good as Caledonia. All the staff are first-class. Just a lot of neat looking holes & the entire course was in great condition.

I have played Blackmoor once before, more than 10 years ago, and was pleased to find not only that it had not deteriorated, but had matured and gotten better. The recent removal of lots of trees has made it made it less aggravating, but no less challenging. The course was in beautiful condition and the staff members we dealt with were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.

The layout is OK, nothing spectacular. The par 4 on the back 9 with the split fairway is by far the best hole on the course. Perfect course for the second round of the day. Please fog the course because we were attacked violently by black flies on the back 9.

Blackmoor is one of our favorite courses in Myrtle Beach. It is very well kept and has a peacefulness to it. The finishing hole is scenic and challenging. A great risk and reward hole (I believe 12 or 13) is dogleg right, par 4. A good drive make it approachable for a good birdie chance but a poor drive can make it very tough.

I like a challenge - dog legs are great. Water a little too challenging at times. **** a friend who has golfed down at Myrtle told me that there are alligators. I did see one up on the shore - I think that there should be more alerts. But as far as the course is concerned the greens were in excellent condition.

Some interesting, tricky holes. Fun to play in general, and the price is certainly right. Only problem was that the starter seemed confused and unsure about his role. Had to reassign a group of three back to their original group on #10 after telling them they would have to start on #1. We were to be paired up, but then he sent us out as a twosome.

We played Blackmoor two days after a heavy rain and played cart paths only. We have a member of our foursome that has Parkinson's Disease and when we asked for a special flag for him to go on the course, we were told absolutely not. The fairways were rather wet making it that much more difficult to play. Not very satisfied.

Starter told us that if we stopped play on the 5th hole (due to heavy rain) that we would receive 18 hole re-play. Pro shop would only honor a 9 hole re-play. We felt as a group that if the starter told us 18 hole re-play they should have honored.

Despite being relatively quiet, Blackmoor decided not to double tee (1st & 10th) which resulted in a long wait at the 1st until the short early holes cleared. Whilst a lovely layout, the inability of this course to drain late in the year, hence limiting carts to paths, is undesirable and leads to long walks and a slow round.

Good start off course because it does not demand you be long off the tee. It is a shot makers course of the first magnitude. Keeping it in the short grass is at a premium. Knowing where the sun sets is also a must. I have played Blackmoor several times and its design gets better with each passing year.

I enjoyed Blackmoor. There were a couple of holes (don't remember the #'s) where there was a blind second shot (on a par 5) that if you didn't lay up you went into a swampy grassy area, the problem was it was marked on the card.

The last time I played Blackmoor was shortly after the course opened. I truly was suprised how well it has matured over the years. My only complaint ... "paths only" for that day. Love those doglegs and the greens putted as "true" as any bermuda I've ever seen. The staff was most friendly of any course on the Strand! Great return to nostalgia!

This golf experience was absolute first-class. The attendant at the pro shop was very informative, the gentleman at the bag drop was very friendly and the starter was helpful in explaining the course to a group of first-time players of this course. Condition of the course was just perfect. My family has been staying in Myrtle since 1978, this was my 5th year of golfing down here and we will now play Blackmoor each and every year. The routing was great, there was more than one option off the tee which makes it fun. We had some rain the night before, making the greens very receptive, nothing rolled off. It was hot and muggy (imagine that, hot and muggy in July at Myrtle Beach), beside the cart girl, the rangers checked on us 3 times to make sure we were drinking and had plenty of water. Finding yardage markers was a challenge sometimes, this did slow us a bit in places. The staff were all wonderful, the greens true, and the holes unique. I'll be back.

Several people mentioned the greens weren't in great shape but I thought they were better than the ones we played at the day before at Waterway Hills. Very interesting and fun course. Tees and greens had just ben aerated which was a downer, but staff went out of their way to make up for it as best they could. The two-fairway hole (8) was great!

Greens were in poor shape due to recent aeration, but I was contacted via phone 2 weeks ahead of date of play and offered alternatives. I chose to stay at Blackmoor and enjoyed my round. Pro shop staff, including intern could not have been nicer.

Wonderful course, wish greens would have been in better shape, but still shot 87. If I lived in the area I would try to become a member.

Was pleased with this club. Good layout and condition. Difficult to find level teeing ground at some boxes, though.
