The drive into the course is the best in Myrtle, the course is well maintained and the layout is spectacular. All staff that we encountered were helpful, courteous, professional and available. The clubhouse is a true gem. All want to play again.

I've read all the hype about Caledonia and finally got to play it on 5/28. The greens were the best I played all week. The fairways were plush and there is a lot of pretty scenery. I think that the layout is OK. I go on the contrary to many people and think that its sister course True Blue is an all-around better golf course. The only hole on this course that seems like it doesn't belong here is the 9th hole. Aside from the pretty flowers they were planting on the tee box, it's a 110 yard par 3 with eye-soring bunkers in front of the green. I may be nit-picking here, but it was very relevant because it was our finishing hole since we teed off 10.

The course was just outstanding. Played True Blue, Caldonia's sister course a few times and had been told Caldonia was even better, and boy they were right. You may find fairways and greens at other courses as nice, but what set this course apart was it's beautiful aesthetics. From the drive up to the clubhouse to the final hole, which was my favorite. Will surely be back to Caldonia as one of my places to play in Myrtle Beach.

Beautiful, well maintained course; sand in traps was not good - packed down - more like playing from hardpan than sand; had issue with ranger on pace of play - made our first group drop in fairway on their 3rd and 4th holes without teeing off, did not give them a warning and ask them to catch up - they were behind but that's no way to treat someone who's paying $199.

The service, course conditions and layout make us willing to pay the price and come back each year. I wish we wouldn't be hassled about playing time when there really aren't that many people on the course or if a group is not holding up the group behind them.

Caledonia was an awesome experience. I guess we hit this course at the right time of year. I could play this course over and over. Lots of water that really makes you think twice of your club selection. This course is one that I will never forget. We couldn't help but to play another round after our first 18 holes. Without question Caledonia is a premier, first-class, 5-star golf course in all aspects. If given the chance, this is a must-play golf course and one you will never forget after playing - but take a few pictures to show off and remember. Once you get beyond the hefty peak greens fees ($200+), this place is great. The only small complaint I have is the 9th hole, it's as though they only designed 17 holes and had to throw one more in at the end of construction. It is a short, boring par 3 which would be fine on most courses but not when compared to the other 17 holes here. All said, I loved this course.

Caledonia is what golf should be: A test of one's all-around game played upon a beautifully manicured course that uses the natural surroundings as a backdrop. It's beauty is inside and out as the clubhouse offers a warm and inviting feeling. The staff was polite and courteous and the old plantation feeling of the lounge made it tough to leave. The only thing I would have changed that day was the weather (cold), but the true essence of Caledonia will warm my heart through the coldest of New England winters.

The course was in great shape. The course is fair. Fairways were great where if you hit a good shot off the tee your ball sat up. It was just and enjoyable round of golf. I enjoyed the fact that we felt like we were out there by ourselves and didn't have "the neighborhood" watching. Something to be said for the lack of homes on a course and that it makes playing much more enjoyable.

Just a beautiful course. We played True Blue last year, so we knew what to expect. These both, in my opinion, are the best courses in Myrtle Beach.

The setting is amazing. Clubhouse is one of the best in MB. The course is tough but fair - a little short but the design more than makes up for it. Every hole was enjoyable. Condition was immaculate for late summer. Must play.

beautiful setting. Tee complexes accentuate scenery. 18th hole is wonderful and exemplifies the entire round. Courteous staff, but I loaded my own clubs.

One of my favorites. I try to play every time I'm in Myrtle Beach. Great layout, holes all have a different character. Eighteen is a great finishing hole.

Regardless of how long the course plays it's the nicest course, best layout, and best maintained course in Myrtle Beach. This should be considered a poor man's Augusta National.

If you only get to play one course in Myrtle Beach, this is the one. The course is beautiful and is absolutely immaculate every time we play it.

I had heard so much about it and had played the other top courses in the area. Frankly for what I paid, I was very very disappointed. It was too short and too easy to be considered a great golf course. Beautiful setting, great job with style. Very nice people but average golf course. As I said way too short and too many very average holes. If I had paid what I did for moderate golf courses in the area, I would understand. I am afraid I don't get it.

Commented on December 15, 2008: "Early or late sitting on the back porch and watching golfers coming into 18 and hitting over water to the green is a hoot. It use to be more fun because everyone got to cheering, clapping and raggin guys (gals) who dump it into tidal waters of the old plantation. It must have got out of hand ... or someone put 6 balls into the drink, got upset and complained. Should have hit a better shot. It is as much fun but still worth sitting on the porch having a little pop and betting on if someone hits the green or goes into the drink by looking at their practice swing."
