The atmosphere of gracious Southern living is immediately evident with the giant magnolias, 300 year old oaks, fresh water lakes, and swampy marshes of Heritage Golf Course. A tribute to century old rice patties and the culture which ensued this course is vibrant with blossoming flowers giving each and every hole an original and intriguing look and feel. A busy golfing community can be found within the grounds though this par 71 course is truly the focal point with a 12,000 foot southern Colonial Clubhouse overlooking the Waccamaw to be enjoyed after a day of golf.

Played on 5/23. Conditions were very good. One of the strongest layouts on the Strand in every way. Tests your ability to the fullest, yet very fair. If you love to score, stay away from here and head north towards Willbrook Plantation. P.S. - If they offer the $5 special like we got for breakfast, lunch, and two beers, jump in head first.

Excellent course in very good condition. Grass on a few tees was a little thin. Sand in traps was mostly hardpacked and sometimes less than an inch in depth. They were having player appreciation day when we played there - free lunch/drink and $20 pro shop coupon - made you feel even more appreciated.

Staff was great, conditions were so so. Tees were beat up. Great layout. We had a group in front of us with girls who wern't playing (maybe caddying), doing cartwheels and just slowed things down. Three carts, six people; looked like the circus was in town.

(We liked) the people, the course ... we conclude our golf outing at the Heritage every year. They had a free breakfast, lunch and 2 beers with 15.00 off at pro shop. Very nice surprise. Should surprise pre-booked golfers more. Would be a nice touch.

Repeat player so I know the course well. Only downside was lack of snack service out on the course - Pretty infrequent but it's early in the season. Only know on conditioning is that the rough spring weather stunted the grown in a bit but the courses were in fine shape.

Very pleased with first round ... great deal but very crowded due to those deals ... kept up with group ahead whole round and we couldn't figure out tee box on one hole and ranger got after us for getting to the tee box when group finished up on green. Of course we were back waiting again in a hole or two.

I thought it was pretty rude for the starters and rangers to stand on the first tee and kept looking at his watch and then have Roy run around the course in his ranger cart every few minutes hurrying us around the course even when we played cart-path-only! I realize there was a frost delay and you had booked tee times, but I feel the rush and pushing was not called for. Nobody was going anywhere anyway!

What a course! Seriously, if your looking to play 1 course in Myrtle Beach and you're willing to drive, book this track! The starter allowed us to play as a fivesome since the late afternoon start time was wide open. Even with several hours worth of rain the night before, the course and greens drained well. As for the holes, my playing partner said, "It's one great hole after another!" I have played over 30 different course in the area and I would put The Heritage Club at the top of the list!

The Pro Shop said the greens were "great and running at a 10" three days before play, and in reality the front 9 greens were verticut and topdressed, back 9 greens were infested with poa annua.

Played 4/6/09 and the greens were slow, hard to figure speed. Played 4/9/09, and greens were much better. Staff was great, loved the course, made it onto the 14th green in a head wind both days. Saw gators on a course for the first time. Great experience.

Wonderful golf course, we really enjoyed it. My only concern was that we played in less than 4 hours but had a group right behind us on every shot that we offered twice to ley play through and refused. We would've liked to have taken our times but with no ranger in sight, there wasn't much we could do.

Beautiful course and surroundings. Although, our group did feel rushed by the starter which was unfortunate. Instead of greeted with "Have a nice day". We were greeted with "Play as fast as you possibly can today".

Outstanding course, very good service, I had to keep an eye on the aligators on the back nine. The course was tough but very fair, my wife found it very playable and enjoyable. The water on the back nine added a good challenge but it was fair as well.

Commented on September 2, 2008: This is not a "Top 50 in America" course. Bent grass greens were in sup-par condition - over half of the putts BOUNCED AND BOUNCED. Also there were MANY dead spots on the greens. Pace of play: 5 HOURS 45 MINUTES!!!!! I would only recommend this course vs. other "average" courses - not even in the Top 20 for Myrtle Beach . . .
