Paul, the starter, was really friendly and helpful. The people in the grill - the bartender especially - seemed to act like I was a pain to have to take an order from. The bartender was very unfriendly.

Tree-lined fairways provided much-needed shade on a really hot day and the doglegs placed a premium on your tee shots. The rough was thick but not long, which I like. All in all, a fun experience.

What a treat!!! Still stinging from son beating me, but I can't blame this on the course. Very great staff. The starter was very informative and came around often to check on play. This may be our new favorite! Old style design is a hit and "junior" seemed to like it as it was his first ever sub-90 round!

We arrived 20 minutes prior to our start time, but the starter treated us as though we were late - rushing us to the first tee where 2 other groups were already waiting to tee off and 3 other groups were lined up behind us. Another player we were paired with arrived an hour early and was told he didn't have enough time to go to the driving range - all in all the experience was very poor - we couldn't enjoy the course.

Didn't have a good day. It rained off and on all day. Greens were flooded. Couldn't putt. Wife and I played part of the front nine and decided to call it a day. Only got rain checks for nine holes. Not worth coming back for nine holes so we decided to play the back nine in the rain since we had already paid for 18 holes. Miserable afternoon.

As someone who likes to walk 18 holes, this is easily my favorite Prime Time course. The layout is great for several types of shots, greens firm with bite and backup, and the conditions today were fantastic. Anyone, and I mean anyone who doesn't appreciate Litchfield CC is a golf snob and won't be missed if you don't play. I'll be here almost every afternoon and I will appreciate having the course to myself. 5 STARS!

The course was as advertised, but not embellished. I am finding I prefer courses without a lot of houses crowding the fairway. This is an older club, and would appear functional but due for a makeover. Greens played well and nice layout. Grass was so-so shape in fairways.

Everything was fantasctic. The only reason why I didn't mark superior on the course was due to "Mother Nature." Due to the less than normal weather you have had over there some of the fairways were extremely soggy, the golf was still well worth the trip and the Litchfield Resort staff was superb.

A nice old course with a good layout. The staff was very nice and the round was very enjoyable; I would recommend this to anyone. Beware Watchesaw East, the management is uncaring about players. Litchfield is just the opposite, very nice people.

Nice course, very well kept. Course was challenging enough for both "faders" and "drawers" while encouraging accuracy off the tee for a good chance at par. Really enjoyed the round. It took 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete for my twosome...on par for M.B. area courses.

Different from the previous ones but just as much enjoyable. The rough was more thick; you have to work harder to keep the ball in the fairway. Old golf course-type that was very charming & challenging. I played 2 other rounds there.

Back nine green were in terrible condition. Group in front of us stopped at the turn for 30 minutes, and we caught them at the turn. Club house was archaic, and there was no players assistant which made monitoring pace-of-play non-existent.

The course is in excellent condition. Some maintenance emphasis should be placed on the tees. Several are in need of leveling.
Our round took five hours. More attention should be placed on monitoring and promoting speed of play.

Getting a tee time on Long Island is tough, so a chance to play a nice course down here was an absolute pleasure. The course was in really good shape, and dealing with the staff gave me a good appreciation for "Southern Hospitality." Thanks for a great experience!

I have played Litchfield several times and this by far was the most disappointing. The staff was rude and did not make anyone in my group want to return. Other than the pro shop check in, I think Laurie, no one even remotely gave us the opinion they were gld for us to be there. Played here Friday the 26th (morning, thankfully, as it was a hot day). All 52 of us enjoyed this course, but for some reason, even our scratch golfers found this to be the toughest course of the trip. Good tee boxes, fairways, lots of water, greens a little sandy but still fast. We gave this course a solid 8.

Forgettable. I don't think that I'll play Litchfield Country Club again. There are too many other Myrtle Beach courses that I think I'll enjoy better. The course was in playable condition and the staff was unispired, which realely made the experience one that I won't do again.

Commented on December 10, 2008: "I agree with the playing the south beach area of Myrtle Beach. They started this thing called the Waccamaw Trail???? I think that is how it is spelled. It is all of the courses in that area and they are all within a few minute drive from each other. Highly ranked courses and some with deals. I love the assortment of restaurants. We tried two new ones these year. Rocco's, Northern Italian - great...a little pricey but worth it for the step out dinner. There is a brewhouse called Quigley's?????? Great casual food and reasonably priced. Rented a condo with three other guys. I think that we are going to bring the spouses and significant others this spring. Our fifth year to the area."
