Famous for the island green and South Carolina shaped sand traps of Hole 3; the tempting "short cut" on the island fairway of Hole 6; and the over 40 sand traps guarding the fairway on Hole 18 it is easy to see why this has been the most recognized and requested course on the beach for over 25 years. Arnold Palmer returned in 1996 to redesign, improve, and continually challenge the golfer's skill and determination to keep the course fresh while maintaining the already achieved success.

1) Was hitting balls on the range at 8:45 and a guy picked up all the balls. I asked to hit a few more and he said the range closed at 9:00. I told him I only wanted to hit a few more balls and he was reluctant to let me do so. Not to friendly. (Older man with cigar) 2) Front nine took almost 3 hours w/o a ranger in site. Asked how long normally took for 18 while getting food and person stated 4-4.5 hours. After calling pro shop on hole 11 after noticing 2 groups ahead of us had 3 holes open they finally sped the round up. It shouldn't have taken my call for this to happen. Greens were not in good shape and recently punched. I was not made aware of this before round.

We had a great time. Only minor complaint is that our tee time was just in front of a tournamnet and we were really rushed through the course. It definitely affected the round we played. Also, we didnt get rain checks for the 2 people who didnt play but paid. Otherwise it was a great course with great people and I'd love to play it again. I'm sure it could become a favorite ...

1st day was nice. 2nd day the starter was rude. 30 min. before our tee time the starter demanded that we get on the first tee. Had to pull 2 of my group off the driving range to get started. It is one thing to ask us to start early, but to demand that we start early is another thing. Show a little courtesy and ask next time.

The greens were watered right before we played each hole making them a bit wet. We also found there to be a significant amount of trash around the grounds in the water and along the fairways. This was a surprise.

Grill was okay but very busy. Not sure if the norm. Because of the heavy play it is also quite busy at the bag drop, but efficient. Staff is good but didn't feel the personal touch of some of the other courses. Hole #6 is a favorite in Myrtle. Take shot at the island from your drive and you have a good look at eagle with a relatively short approach. #12 is a fun island green as well.

The most beautiful course I have every played. Loved The Gambler. If you take the trip you have to shoot for the island fairway. Staff was great and friendly. Highly recommend all three courses.

It as a very challenging course, it made you think about course management a lot. The wind was a very big factor and the firmness of the greens made it difficult to stick a shot on the greens. The staff was very friendly and very hospitable. My favorite hole hands-down was The Gambler. What a risk/reward hole! I parred the hole, wasn't easy! Thank you for an enjoyable day of golfing.

Shot-maker's course. Always in great shape. Scenic golf course not lined with houses and condos. Bent greens are always a plus since they are not overseeded with rye grass.

Excellent, another great day and experience. Four of our group did a replay and the course was SouthCreek, excellent condition too and the cost was great for a replay at $16, both value and challenge.

Really nice course, more scenic than I expected. The Gambler is more gimmick than anything else, cramps up pace of play. (Of course, I lost the Gamble, making my opinion what it is).

Great course, good layout, greens were in excellent condition. Only issue was the course was wet and cart-path-only which was a cause for some slow play, but I will choose this course again in future outings. Staff was very very organized and took good care of us.

Didn't like how slow the back 9 was to play. We were the first ones off at 7:30 a.m. and we finished the front at 9:15 a.m. for a nice 1:45 pace. The second 9 took forever; we finished with a 5-hr. round.

Staff is good. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to check in before your tee time; since they are checking in three courses it can take up to 15 minutes on line to get checked in. Courses in great shape.

We had two carts which did not make it through the round. One of which did not make it through the first hole before dying. Although the group was on hole # 1 it took over 20 minutes to get them a replacement cart. The pro shop responded that they were very busy when we called in the problem from the first fairway, not realizing that this was holding up every other tee time behind them.

We were very desapointed on the greens' condition. They were spiked prior to our visit and were bumpy and quite slow ... The putting green wasn't spiked and we thought we were going to have one of our greatest golf experiences or our lives ... It wasn't to be, we really would have liked to be advised of the greens condition prior to our visit. We would have played somewhere else and not leave this great course with a bad taste in our mouth. Thanks.

What can you say about playing King's North that hasn't already been said? It is without question one of the finest golfing experiences anywhere. We played it on the morning of July 16 and found it, as always, to be in tremendous shape. It is challenging, yet forgiving when you need it to be and its physical beauty help make golf there the sort of Zen experience it ought to be. What a great course with a super staff. This is a Myrtle Beach must-play.

My favorite course in Myrtle Beach. Beautifully maintained while providing various shots and decisions.
On Barefoot – Dye:
We played the back tees which probably was a mistake for me. My buddy scored an 82 from back there, so I played it with him. Your starter needs to keep his opinion of who should play back there to himself (Ace). If I want to spend my money, not slow anyone down, and torture myself, that should not be discouraged by anyone on your staff.
On Barefoot – Fazio:
Super course and experience. Your staff at the carts do a great job of juggling three courses.
On Barefoot – Love:
Good enough to bring me back in future years.
On Barefoot – Norman:
Nice course to end the trip on. Go home with decent scores.
On Long Bay Club:
Love the course. Played it six times now and will always make it part of my golf trips.

excellent course - it is my son's new favorite. we both 'gambled' and lost, but still really enjoyed it, even in the 100+ degree afternoon humidity. I was surprised, however, that the bev cart was done by 3:30ish on a day like that
