Arthur Hill's redesign of the Myrtlewood PineHills course was so dramatic it immediately transformed it into one of the most popular spots for local Strand residents. The course was nominated for Golf Digest's 1994 "Best New Resort Course" and has developed a reputation as one of the best kept courses on the Grand Strand. PineHills measures 6640 yards from the back tees and features Penncross Bent grass greens and Bermuda fairways.

Very nice course. good condition.
Had an 8:22 tee time. Teed off 15 minutes late. Quit after 15 holes and 4:30 on the course. Was going to be a 5:30 round. Marshall was polite and tried to move people along but did not work.

The course played true. Greens, fairways and tees were in the best condition that I have seen in years. [I make both a spring and fall trip to Myrtle Beach].

4/20/10 Excellent conditions on the fairways. The greens were a little more furry than I am used to. However, I usually play on bent grass and am not familiar with bermuda greens. Generally the course was in very good condition and I would recommend it. Plus, I got a hole-in-one on 17. Arthur Hills makes an interesting but demanding course. You better be good with your sand iron on this course.

Man in pro shop that day has as bad an attitude as anybody I have ever encounterd in a golf pro shop. They really screwed up our tee times; I have written a letter to their golf director.

Not sure why the last review says the greens are in bad shape. The greens were hard, but most of the courses we played were also hard. Our group enjoyed both courses at Myrtlewood. Nice layouts.

Greens were extremely slow, just overseeded. Was not expecting the greens to have been just overseeded. Should have been done 4-6 weeks ago which was what I was expecting. None of our 8 people enjoyed this round. Wish we could have gotten our money back and played somewhere else. Miserable.

Pinehills is a bit less fun than Myrtlewood's Palmetto course but it will still keep the golfer interested throughout all 18 holes. A lot of doglegs, but never really a blind shot where you won't see the target. A lot of holes present the golfer with a risk/reward decision to make on the tee box, which is always fun. Greens, fairways, and tees are in decent shape. Hard to find trouble other than water hazards. Overall a very solid course, but try and play the Palmetto course if you can.
