Sea Trail - Byrd

Following his imaginative style of design, the Willard Byrd Course at Sea Trail is built around seven man-made lakes ranging from 14 to 20 acres where each hole is most memorable for beauty and exacting play. The waste areas, along with mounding and pot bunkers, require that every hole be approached both differently and strategically in order to reach Byrd’s undulating greens. A picturesque 18th hole, flawlessly placed between two ponds, finishes the course at the Jones/Byrd Clubhouse. I like the course and its layout. Would have liked for the greens to be rolled and cut closer.

The new Champions greens are nice. This is the more forgiving course at Sea Trail, but it still has its share of water.

Nice layout. The area in front of the greens seemed to be soft mushy. I struggle to hit in those conditions. It was worth the price and my wife liked it as well. Only thing I will say is the ladies tees are like 2,000 yards shorter than the men's whites. If you're playing aginst your gal you might have a 500 yard par 5 and she will have a 350 yard par 5. Makes it hard to compete.

Great course, but it rained and that put a downer on the round, but the course was great and in great shape. Personally I just don't like playing in the rain. All in all it was a great course.

Fairways were in very bad condition - very wet and long. Greens were good, but nothing special about this layout. Will not play there again.

Recently overseeded when we played so cart path only and fairways needed a little work, but the greens were some of the best I have ever played anywhere. Have always loved this course but haven't played it in about 5 years. Brought back many great memories, will play again and again.

Same as Crow except they worked to accommodate hcp golfers by letting them ride to edge of fairway. Wasn't as miserable as Crow. Parties should be told of maintenance schedule before reserving expensive rounds.
