I think you should state in the info about the course that it has narrow fairways. All day we heard fores and balls hitting in trees, and we were hit into three times before I said something to the group behind us. We could not play faster there was a group in front of us. This course is for more advanced players.

The gondala didn't start operating until 7:05 a. m. We had a 7:30 a.m. tee time. So not much time was left to get ready once we checked in. We knew there was a ride over the waterway to get to the clubhouse so we arrived at 6:30 a.m. only to learn that we wouldn't go over until 7:00 a.m. So, the entire day started off on the wrong foot. The course has many holes that parallel each other, putting you regularly in the line of fire. Greens were great.

The course was in decent shape. Greens were a bit burnt, the speed did not match that of the putting green. Fairways were a bit patchy but otherwise nice. Was not impressed with marshalls, didn't see one on the course and the groups in front of us were painfully slow.

Will never play again. Grass clippings left in the fairways looked like they were about to bale hay. Greens were in rough shape. Practice area was closed? We were the first group out and when we made the turn the starter told us the Ravine holes were not going to be ready for 30 minutes. They had 3 foursomes waiting on the other nine tee box. I packed up my gear and left. They offered me a 9 hole rain check. I took the raincheck and gave it to someone else to use.

The Oaks was all straightaways. Very little challenge. Very good course for beginners. The Lakes was a little more of a challenge for me. Service was very good; although, the gondola guy at the lot must have been ready to get home because he told me that my 3:30 tee time was too late for his liking. Must have been a long day.

Loved the overhead trolley; it was a nice experience, The fairways had standing water, not sure if the drainage is poor of just too much rain the few days before. I will probably give this course another opportunity before checking it off the list.

Good course for the price. Fairways and tee boxes in great shape. Greens were not as good, but I did play in June in hot conditions. Rough, landscapes, and cart paths not well maintained, but they were not horrible. Course is not overly challenging, and it is good for high handicaps.

Fun course. I took my young son (kids play free). He loved the gondola ride over. He didn't notice the very strong smell of marijuana that the previous riders had left for us onboard, but overall not a bad day.

While the course was very wet due to heavy rains for the prior several days, the conditions were excellent. I normally do not write reviews, but I feel compelled after reading the reviews posted on the 16th. The greens on the Oaks and Lakes were very good to excellent. Only the #1 hole on the Oaks showed signs of being aerated. Fairways were soggy but in good shape.

We would like to have known that the greens and the fairways had been aerated. We realize aeration is a necessary evil. A discount on aerated days would be nice, but not required. Also, if you are going to aerate the greens, aerate the practice greens, too. It took us 3-4 holes to readjust putting speed.

Have played there before, and found the course to be in much better condition than I remember it. Greens could have been quicker but overall in very good condition as was the course in general. My playing partner is a high handicap and he really really enjoyed the experience. Not the toughest course I will play, but very good for what it is.

Gondola ride added to the enjoyment of the course. Make sure to get there about 15 minutes prior to your tee time to give yourself enough for the gondola.
Pleasantly surprised by the condition of the course after hearing others say it wasn't in good shape last time they had played there a number of years ago. Greens, tees and fairways all in great shape.
We were on the first tee box at 7:33 a.m. and full 18 holes done by 10:45am. Fantastic pace.
First met by an extremely nice worker who put our clubs on the gondola. Can't say there were others so friendly. On the other hand, no complaints about staff (but also no other compliments).
Pro shop appears to be undergoing construction. Did not use the grill at all while there.
Great deal for the price we paid online ($40). I highly recommend this place.

The hospitality was second to none as I had inadvertently booked the wrong date and the pro accommodated us by finding a spot for us, otherwise we wouldn't have been to play Waterway Hills as we were departing Myrtle Beach the following day after spending three weeks there. The tram was the most interesting part of the course - other than that, probably would not play again.

The course was in excellent condition and it was very challenging. The pro shop and the cart attendants need a lesson in customer service! They were very, very rude! It really ruins your day when someone is just nasty to you that early in the morning. I will never go back to Waterway Hills.

For the time of year the course was great. The only thing I was upset about was that the starter was not very friendly and when we came around to play our second nine they had put a group playing a best ball game in front of us that slowed our pace of play down a lot, so the back was not as enjoyable as our front nine because we had to wait to hit every shot. There was no course marshal to mention this to, either. We did mention something to the beverage girl but her response was "I only serve drinks." When I go back to Myrtle Beach I probaly will not play this course again because of this situation. I liked the tram over to the course, this is definitely unique.

The tram/air lift to the proshop is unique. The parking area is easily accessible from the highway. The golf course layout is friendly and playable for all level of golfers. The greens are in good conditions and the rate is very reasonable.

A few of us come to Myrtle Beach every year and this is always one of the courses that we play. It is very playable, in good condition, the staff is always very friendly and helpful. It is one of those hidden golf courses that you SHOULD play.

Excellent, this course condition has improved dramatically over the past three years, we enjoy returning and 4 of our group players an extra nine holes. The replay cost was too high though at $23, Myrtle Beach National for replay was only $16 and a much better value and cost.

Have played Myrtle for years and was told Waterway Hills was a dog. Well, 8 of us had a great week; just completed the trip with a 27-hole final at the Hills. We had a ball, and anyone who knows about Robert Trent Jones would appreciate this layout. True, the clubhouse lacks the bells and whistles of the big boys, but this course layout offers some of the most challenging shots to be made that we saw all week. To top it all off we had a ball in the clubhouse and even wrote and performed "Waterway Hills Blues"! Next time you pass this by and laugh at the Tramway, park the car and cross the river to 27 holes of fun!!!! Thanks to the staff for their hospitality and fun!

Played here on 9/18 in the afternoon after Myrtle Beach National could not get us on for a replay for $27. Good course in fair to good condition, but the greens were a little slow overall. A pleasant track that I would play again, especially for the $27 rate (I don't know if it would be worth the rack rate).

We were the 2nd group off of the tee and we had people cut in front of our first group on the back nine slowing us way down. The course cycled them in on the 13th hole and I would imagine they moved them due to their pace of play. No one cared and they just shrugged it off. Greens were horrible and inconsistent. Some almost 60% sand and others 10%. This was the last time we will play this course.

I really enjoyed Waterway Hills. It was a great golf course and I will play it every time I get down here. I really enjoyed the tee shot on the "Lakes" right by the waterway ... very picturesque ... I find the course exciting and a really nice place to play.

I enjoyed the trolley that one must take to get to play at the course. The course condition was very good and I really enjoyed the layout! I would have liked to have gotten a course layout before playing. Also, it would be good to have on the Web site where I can input my hotel location and site, which will tell you where the golf courses are located in relation to where I am staying while in Myrtle Beach.

Have played this course before. Enjoy this course. Was not pleased that one person had to cancel due to injury and since the rounds were paid for to the booking agency. I have a rain-check for the round since I was the scheduler. I would have been more than happy to spend the money in the pro shop but was told I could not use the rain-check for merchandise. The money was already there for the course, so I could not understand their reasoning.

I really enjoyed this course. Most of the holes were real interesting. The ravine kicked my butt. Pin placements on the greens were particularly challenging. On a few occasions, good shots were turned bad due to the rolling slopes of some fairways which was frustrating. All in all, I really enjoyed this course and the round even though it was not my best.

It was neat that a cable car system brings you and your bags over the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway to the clubhouse. The staff was very professional. Par 3's on this course are challenging.

We played the Ravine course for the second nine. Very challenging hole layouts with tight landing areas and approach shots. The greens were sandy and made putting near impossible. Balls bounced around a lot.

Greatest value of golf at the beach. Loved the course. Narrow and straight. Some greens a little rough, but all in all, cannot wait to schedule next tee time at Waterway Hills.

Nice old-style layout. Greens were in good shape, but a little slow. Be sure to check the hole layout at each tee (none on card) as ponds and ravines do come into play. SkyCaddie is of little help with these hazards! My wife and I played with another couple. We all agreed we would play the course again.
